Delicious Doodles

OMGosh, I made it!!!  YAY!!  Teri has very kindly offered me a place on her fabulous DT over at Delicious Doodles!  To say I was excited is an understatement!  Her offer came on Wednesday when I was at an all-time low, and oh Wow! did it lift my spirits!!  The chance to create with these stunning images again is just so exciting for me.

For my introductory piece I have created this Chocolate wrapper using this super-simple template that was created by the amazingly talented Inger.  As soon as I saw it I just swooned with delight and I was desperate to have a go at making one of my own.
this is the outside of the box
and the inside looks a lot like this
and here's a close-up of my 'Fae'
Isn't she just stunning, and I had the best time colouring her up with my Faber Castell pencils.

Well that's my all for today - I'm now off to open up the Dark chocolate with sea salt - omgosh it is sooooo scrummy!!!

Please pop by the Delicious Doodles blog regularly to meet my new teamies as we introduce ourselves, and once again, a big THANK YOU to my lovely uber-talented friend Teri for allowing me the honour to represent Delicious Doodles.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great BH Weekend if you're in the UK! :o) xx

Pink, Brown and White, with a touch of Kraft!

Happy Wednesday once more blogland.  Now, I'm not normally in the habit of making visitors feel down, but crying out loud, I feel sooo low today!  I have every reason in the world not to but I just do.  I hope it's nothing to do with the fact that today is my 14th Wedding Anniversary (do you get a chainsaw for that one??? LOL!!), or it could be that I'm on the brink of a new decade in my life and I've not had therapy for it yet!  Yes, tomorrow is a biggie and I feel like I'm being led to the gallows!!  Maybe it's the big 'M' kicking in???  I did wake up with wringing wet hair this morning which I thought was really weird - I wondered if Tez had  thrown a celebratory bucket of water over me before he left for work!  Another thing that it could be is the fact that I have been swimming quite a bit over tha last couple of weeks and I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms!  I used to swim every single day because I love it so much and now when I can't go for a swim I feel down.  I went again yesterday and, just like with Chinese food, within an hour of leaving the pool, I desperately wanted to go back!

Enough, I will do some housework today and cheer myself up! LOL!  Yeah, like that's going to work!  This week over at Midweek Magnolias our theme is a Colour Combo, that being Pink, Brown and White and here is the card I made for it:
Tilda is coloured with pencils and the papers are Bearly Mine Simply Dots in pink and brown, and also a Shabby Chic paper from a digi kit.  I created my card on Karft Card so that I could also show this off in Totally Tilda's challenge blog as they have a Kraft Card theme at the moment.

Please pop over to see us at Midweek Magnolias as our fabulous DT have created some amazing pieces for you to drool over.  There's also the chance of winning a fab prize from Magnolia in Sweden if you play along with us this week - and trust me, these prizes have been magnificent!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :o) xx

A PLEA FOR SPONSORSHIP

Next weekend, my youngest will be doing a cycle ride along the Greenway at Stratford Upon Avon.  This is two of his challenges that he has been set by his new school - he has combined his Outdoor Activity challenge with his Fundraising for Charity challenge.  He has chosen to do this activity to raise much needed and greatly appreciated funds for HELP FOR HEROES.  PLEASE could I ask you if you would be generous enough to dontate even £1 to this very worthwhile cause.  Every penny goes towards injured servicemen/women and their families.  I know they would be really grateful, and so would Isaac's doting mum!

Thank you in anticipation.  Mwah Mwah...

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Happy Monday all. And what a grim morning it is!  We had to put the tent back up in the garden yesterday as we dismantled it in the pouring rain on Friday so in order to stop it from growing a culture all over it, it had to be re-asembled at home.  Isaac and I came *this* close to sleeping out there last night, just for the heck of it.  I'm so glad we didn't because it's horrible and wet and muggy!!

Right then, over at Delicious Doodles, Teri is having a DT call and has offered up this delicious cupcake to work with.  Here is what I produced:
First of all I coloured the cupcake with pencils, gave it a glittering with good ol' stickles then I cut it out and scanned it.  The original cake that I did is right here on this card, and the scanned version is my header for this post.
It was meant to be a Red Velvet cupcake but I'm not sure I captured that too well!  Anyway, having scanned my coloured image in, I then imported it into Craft Artist and used Picnic in the Park digi kit to produce this set.  The wine label had to be shown for what it is but unfortunately I'd already made a start on the wine! LOL!!!
and finally I made a gift bag using the same set

So there y'go!  Hope you like it.

Right then, I think today is a day for buying school uniforms.  Experience has taught me to always leave new uniforms to the last minute then they're sure to still fit when they go back to school, especially with shoes!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  :o) xx

Home Again!

Happy Saturday bloggers!  I'm back home after a lovely week in my tent in Devon.  I say lovely, but what I mean is it was an adventure!!  We were very, very lucky to be able to bring our tent home again in one piece following two nights of gale force winds and lashing rain!  Being right on the coast I counted my blessings that we woke up in the same field that we *slept* in (the noise of the wind prevented a lot of sleep!!!).  Unfortunately the same could not be said for the the lovely family next door - their poor tent took a good bashing and was ripped to shreds in parts.  It was ferocious!

Anyway, a good night's sleep in my own bed last night has put me right back on track and I finally got finished my entry for the Totally Tilda DT call.  I coloured the image before I went away and managed to get it assembled this morning - it's one of the very few stepper cards I've ever made, and here it is:
The bg paper, believe it or not, is giftwrap that I found at Tesco and I just had to buy it because it is so gorgeous.  Tilda and the harbour were coloured with pencils and I used Stickles stardust around all the edges.

Fingers crossed for a result! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very happy weekend!  It's meant to be one the hottest days of the year?? hmmmm...... not here it isn't!  :o) xx

Home Sweet Home!

I cannot believe where the time is going - already we are on week 3 of the summer (Ha!! What summer!!) hols!  I still haven't done half of what I had intended to do by now.  The lids are still on the paint pots, the ironing pile is not getting any smaller, the lawn is almost up to the window and I haven't even gotten my bike out of the garage, let alone cycled the length and bredth of the county!!

I have however made this card for the Marianne Design Diva's challenge this month which is "Anything Goes", and please keep a finger crossed for me because I am also hoping it might get me chosen for their DT.  I used the Victorian House die and the Picket Fence die.  I also raided my son's box of die cast cars and chose this Jag to park up outside it, because I figured that if I could own a house like this, I could afford to park a Jag outside! LOL!!
Blowing it a good luck kiss now as I post it on Marianne Design Diva's blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a good week :o) xx

Olympic Fever

Good Morning blogland!  are you enjoying the Games?  I have to confess I have seen very little of them.  I purposely watched, and got over-excited at Becky Adlington's Silver achievement, but other than that, I've not seen anything.  I did watch the Opening Ceremony though - wasn't it magnificent!  For the first couple of minutes I was squirming with embarrassment - OMG, what was all that cheesiness about?  I felt like I was watching a poor-man's production of Lord of the Rings, but then it picked up!  Oh Wow did it pick up!!  I loved it when the children of the 4 British Nations sang their anthems (sorry Wales, I wish they'd chosen something other than Guide me O thy Great Redeemer, really NOT one of my favourites) - I LOVE Jerusalem, Danny Boy always makes me cry, and for some reason, Flower of Scotland always makes me want to stand up and belt it out with them!! LOL!  (My grandad was a Scot, so maybe there's a drop of highland blood in me!).

Anyway, over at Midweek Magnolias this week, we were gripped by Olympic Fever and we decided to host a little competition of our own.  As long as our players stick to the rules (i.e. stick to the theme and only enter your project in 5 or less blog challenges) everyone will be in with a chance of winning one of THREE fab mystery prizes from Magnolia.  We will also be handing out a Bronze, Silver and Gold award for our winners to display on their blogs - totally unique and will only ever been given once!  Surely it's got to be worth it for the kudos alone???

So, feeling inspired by the opening ceremony, I made my card this week based on the arrival of the Nations, and here is Tilda, proudly flying the flag for Team GB:
Tilda is coloured with Faber Castell pencils and the papers are from Portobello Road.  The badge is computer generated.

Well that's my lot for today.  Please go and visit my lovely teamies at Midweek Magnolias - they have created some amazing projects - as usual!!

And before I go, I want to wish my little girlie a very Happy Birthday - she's 15 today, and still behaving like a pup!!  Happy Birthday Rosie, bless her!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week.  xxx
