Time for Change
Things around here have not been the same since we lost our darling Rosie. It's not something I want to dwell on too much but it's hard not to when she is on my mind every waking hour. I don't seem capable of doing anything at home without imagining her there by my side as she always was (except when it was sunny outside, because she loved to sunbathe!!). My mojo has been completely missing but I really want to get back into the crafting habit. Rosie always made me uncomfortable while I was colouring because she used to lie across my feet - something which I would curse while she was here - what I wouldn't give to have her do it again!
I have been a bad DT member as I have been MIA for some time, but now I need to change that and get right back in the saddle. I haven't had any new stash for some time due to a serious lack of funds so I decided to have a clearout of some of the stuff I don't use and sell them on ebay. One or two things staked a claim on my new income, but I did manage to salvage a little to buy myself a couple of new Magnolias and some dies. This frame and image are part of my new stash and you can rest assured that you will see this Marianne frame used MANY more times because it is now officially my most favourite die cut ever, and I can't stop cutting it out! I used it here on my card for this week's Midweek Magnolias theme which challenges you to use Kraft Card on your project. See:
I coloured Tilda with Copics, but having not used them for such a long time, I know that I desperately need a refresher course! The BG paper is one that I made myself and the vintage label is Kaiserkraft.
Well that's my lot for today. I'm busy planning how I'm going to redecorate my living and dining room at Easter and I want to get my nose back into my mags! Please pop over to see what my lovely teamies have created over at Midweek Magnolias - they are an amazing bunch of girls which so much talent and they have been really busy!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week! :o) xx

ReplyDeleteStunning card, so sorry for your loss xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Anne, I love this Tilda. I'm just trying to catch up doing my rounds, seems like ages since I had time to myself to blog hop. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteAw Anne - Rosie's loss has left a gap in your life - so sorry for you. Its always the little things.....
ReplyDeleteYour colouring is fabby (as usual)! Love the layout on this card.
You left a little comment on my blog - the papercut....it IS reasonably easy to do, but yes, takes a while - more experienced people are waaaay quicker though! I just had my one on my craft table and sat and did some every now and then when I had the chance (my craft area is in the kitchen, so instead of wiping surfaces....lol). I reckon it was done in about 3 hours. Not too bad considering it is my first cut of that size and only my third cut ever. The Hunger Games cut only took about an hour to hand cut. It really does depend on the intricacy.
I would seriously recommend you give it a go - its very satisfying! I bought a beginner kit off Paper Panda - I DO think you could go it alone, but I liked the idea of being led through it. Instructions in the kit were quite minimal - but surprisingly adequate! And it came with three designs too - which were lovely and one has been gifted already (although I forgot to take a photo of it!!!).
I would imagine you would have no problems getting going with it - you must have fairly decent hand eye coordination already from your colouring
Enjoy! Ruthie x
Lovely card, Anne. Tilda looks adorable and I love how you color. Her blue polka dot dress is fabulous. Gorgeous frame and love how you worked in the kraft cardstock.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you and your Rosie. It's not easy to loose a part of the family.
Sending you smiles and hugz!
