Thanks Carla for this challenge, it really kick-started me off again and I really enjoyed making this, and moreover, for the first time in what feels like yonks, I actually like what I did with it! So Thumbs Up to you for that!
My only gripe with this is that the stamp, Sophia, by Rubber Stampede never seems to print out very clearly - I scrubbed the stamp clean before I started but even after about 8 prints using 4 different inks, it still doesn't come out clean. I tried using archival, versafine, stazon and a liquid chalk, and this print with stazon was the best I got. The papers used are all Brenda Walton and, although you can't see too well from the photo, I brushed over the embossed piece and background of the image with some gold dust chalk. It does look a bit sparklier IRL - honest!
And, if you're here reading this, then I'd like to thank you for popping in. If you're new here, leave me a link to your blog so I can come and say 'Hi!' :o)
I absolutely love this card Anne, such a wonderful way of using black and white!!
ReplyDeleteLove this card, know what you mean, I have trouble too with stamps that have a large negative image, love the black and white of this card.
ReplyDeleteVery classy, elegant card - I love it!
ReplyDeleteA super card, Anne ... great colour scheme and so very stylish! :D
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, I saw your comments on having trouble with fine line stamps. Try using Ancient Page www.clearsnap.com. I find it the best ink for fine line stamps. Hope this works for you. Another suggestion if using the ink I stamp the whole ink pad on a piece of paper first because this is a sticky juicy ink just to get a little off before I ink up the stamp.
ReplyDeleteI love the many layers you used on the car. Very pretty.
Wow! This is Fabulous and Classy!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the embossing is lovely. The image looks fine to me....on this card I think it adds to the look..(not being stark black). Sometimes if I can't get something to stamp well I fill it in with a brush marker...like SU's Black...or a paint brush with some ink on it.
